Ningbo LG has two machining subsidiary factories. They have inside diameter slicers, wire-cutting machines, flat grinding machines and centerless grinders, etc. The two factories have the ability to machine not only normal blocks, disks and segments, but also especially high precision small blocks and hyper-normal products, through using laser drilling and grinding to machine the SmCo products of thin-wall, deep hole, which has high precision as well as tiny hole.

INTRODUCTION TO TECHNICAL CONSULTANT
Dr. Hartmut Nagel, who has been technical consultant since the establishment of Ningbo LG. He engaged in the SmCo research work in a global professional material and technology group—ThyssenKrupp—in Germany. Now he establishes a company, which provides NdFeB and SmCo manufacturers with equipments like hydrogen-decrepitating furnaces, pressing machines, etc, as well as technical solutions and innovative services.
Ceramic, also known as ferrite,
magnets are made of a composite of iron oxide and barium carbonate (BaCo3) or
strontium carbonate (SrCO3).
Widely available since the 1950's,
this material is commonly available and at a lower cost than other types of
materials used in permanet magnets.Ceramic magnets are made using
pressing and sintering. Sintered magents are a type of ceramic composed of the
compressed powder of the alloy material being used.Sintering involves the compaction of
fine alloy powder in a die and then fusing the powder into a solid material with
heat. While the sintered
magets are solid ,their physical properties are more similar to a seramic and
are easily broken and chipped.
Ceramic magents are brittle and hard
generally requiriing diamond wheels to grind and shape.
These magnets come in a number of
different grades. Ceramic-1 is an isotropic grade with equal magnetic properties
in all directions.
Ceramic grades 5 and 8 are
anisotropic grades. Ansotropic magents are magnetized in the direction of
pressing.The anisotropic
method delivers the highest energy product among ceramic magnets at values up to
3.5 MGOe ( Mega Gauss Oersted). Ceramic magnets have a good
balance of magnetic strength,
resistance to demagnetizing and economy. They are the most wide used magents
today.
Beneficial characteristics of ceramic magnets include their low cost, high coercive force, resistance to corrosion, and high heat tolerance. Drawbacks include their low energy product or "strengh", low mechanical strengh, and the ferrite poweder on the surface of the material which can rub of and cause soiling.

Ferrite or ceramic magnets are still the most widely used magnets with a maximum energy product of 1 to ± 4.3 MGOe.
Due to the environmental requirements which are becoming more stringent barium ferrite has been replaced by strontium ferrite during the last years.
Ferrite is the cheapest magnetic material and has a high corrosion resistance making coating unnecessary.
This magnetic material is hard and fragile and must be processed with diamond, preferably when it is not in a magnetic state.
Because it might shrink during the sinter process a tolerance of ± 2 % should be taken into account when determining the dimensions. If grinded ± 0.1 mm.
Tighter tolerance is available on request.
Ferrite magnets can be supplied both isotropically and anisotropically, they are used in the most divergent products such as loudspeakers, magnetrons, measuring devices, toys, engines, reed contacts etc.
The maximum temperature of use is 225°C depending on the specification, dimensions and system design.

The minimum dimension for block magnets is 2 x 2 x 2 mm, whereas the maximum dimension for this type is 270 x 90 x 25.4 mm.
The minimum dimension for disc magnets is D 2 x 1 mm, whereas the maximum dimension for this type is D 156 x 25.
The minimum dimension for ring magnets is D8 x 2.5 x 3 mm, whereas the maximum dimension for this type is D 256 x D* x 25 mm (* inside diameter in consultation
